Under the title “We are energy .. not disability”, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with a number of NGOs, held today a celebration on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which included an exhibition of handicrafts and artistic and theatrical performances presented by students of the Institute of Special Education for intellectual disabilities.
In a statement to SANA correspondent, the Director of Social Affairs and Labor, Ahmed Taliush, considered that this initiative comes out of encouragement for people with disabilities, giving them the necessary attention, and showing their talents and capabilities, in order to complement the directorate's action plan by integrating them into society and making them active and productive people.
A number of participants and their families expressed their thanks and appreciation for this initiative, which reflects social solidarity with people with disabilities, and gives them an incentive to start over and overcome their disability.
