A scientist who worked at the research laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan claims that the corona virus was created by humans and leaked from the facility, which caused the outbreak of the epidemic.
According to a report yesterday (Saturday) in the British "Sun", Andrew Huff, who worked for a non-profit organization that researches viruses, said that the virus leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China about two and a half years ago, and that the American authorities are guilty of "the biggest American intelligence failure since the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001".
The laboratory was the focus of controversy regarding the origin of the covid virus.
Senior officials in the Chinese government and staff members at the laboratory denied that the virus managed to leak from the laboratory.
However, Huff writes in his new book "The Truth About Wuhan" that the epidemic was a result of the funding that the United States government gave to China for virus research.
According to him, the experiments done in the laboratory were not properly secured, which led to the leak.

"Foreign laboratories did not implement appropriate monitoring measures, which ultimately led to the leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology," he wrote.
Huff is the former president of the Eco Health Alliance, an organization based in New York that studies infectious diseases.
The organization has been researching various bat corona viruses for more than a decade and has established close ties with the laboratory in China.
According to Huff, who worked at the organization in 2016-2014, they helped the Wuhan lab formulate "the best methods for engineering bat coronaviruses to attack other species" for many years.
"China knew from the first moment that it was a genetically engineered virus. The United States government is to blame for transferring this dangerous biotechnology to the Chinese. I am horrified by what I saw. We simply gave them biological weapons technology," Huff said.
