Cergy: the start-up that dehydrates fresh produce inaugurates its first production site

The company Dry4good buys fresh products in a short circuit, which it dehydrates to make components for the agroindustry.


Dried carrot for soup, an all-natural dye made from beets… Dry4good could quickly wake up your taste buds.

The start-up, which grew up at La Turbine, a Cergy-Pontoise incubator, has just inaugurated a brand new 1,000 m2 pilot production site in Cergy.

A proof of the rapid growth of the company created in 2019 by Jean-Gabriel Dijoud and Romaric Janssen, respectively a mechanical engineer and a graduate of a business school, who made their ranges in a laboratory located in Saint-Ouen-l' Alms.

The company was rewarded in 2020 at the Ile-de-France food innovation competition.

Its secret: an innovative process for dehydrating fruits and vegetables, which makes it possible to transcribe all the taste and nutritional qualities of fresh products, to transform them into ingredients for the food industry, in pieces, in pieces or in powder.

In the end, this gives culinary aids or 100% natural functional substitutes, which should in the future replace the chemical components in yoghurts or even cereals.

Taste, color, nutrient intake…”

Objective: to manufacture 50 tonnes of dry products per year

The Cergy site and its eleven employees should be able to manufacture 50 tonnes of dry products per year (using 500 to 600 tonnes of fresh materials).

It will allow to put in real condition the work tested in the laboratory, using products purchased in short circuit.

"Val-d'Oise is very good land for agricultural raw materials," explains Jean-Gabriel Dijoud.

The Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône mushroom farms, for example, are among the forty producers who supply Dry4good.

In the medium term, the establishment, which required an investment of 4 million euros and will notably house the company's R&D department, could be duplicated on sites three to four times larger.
