A traffic light should make it easier to turn from Elbestrasse to Blumenstrasse.

The traffic light on Blumenstraße is not yet in place, and Egerlandstraße will not be finished this year either: waiting is the order of the day on many construction sites.

Geretsried - Corona, war, shortage of skilled workers: The reasons are complex, the result is the same.

It takes staying power on construction sites these days.

This is also the case with the projects in the urban area of Geretsried.

Rainer Goldstein, who heads the building department in the city hall, gave an overview at the city council meeting on Tuesday.

Traffic light Blumenstrasse

It was already clear before the construction project "OPUS.G" on Banater Strasse that a solution was needed for the Blumenstrasse/Elbestrasse junction.

More than two years ago, the city made a crossing agreement with the state building authority in Weilheim for a traffic light system, which according to the expert opinion is necessary at the point.

Actually, it should have been in place for a long time, the implementation was last scheduled for autumn.

However, nothing happened.

"We are waiting for the clearing permit," informed Goldstein.

Due to vacancies and staff shortages in the responsible authority, this is “relatively complex”.

The clearing is necessary for the expansion of the adjacent bus stop, which is to be carried out together with the construction of the traffic lights.

The city now wants to install empty pipes in December.

We push the rest into the new year.

It doesn't help," says Goldstein.

Egerlandstrasse

It had been foreseeable for a long time that the Egerlandstraße would not be open for the Christmas business.

But Mayor Michael Müller emphasized in the city council: "Pedestrians can reach all shops." However, there is not yet a consistent option.

"We share the desire, but I can't let anyone pass behind the wheel loader," added Goldstein.

Surface restoration work is in progress on all sides.

"The construction schedule changes daily," says the city building officer.

Some of the colored asphalt has already been applied, some of the road is still black.

The first future plant island has already been excavated.

The foundation will soon be built there.

The granite blocks are to be cut in the new year.

The fountain is also missing.

With divisions and telephone lines you have to see how far you can get with a view to the weather.

"Next week, or the week after that, we want to try to mount the lamps." The city building inspector did not name a time when the Egerlandstraße will be finished and opened to traffic.

crossing aid

An unexpected windfall has enabled the Weilheim State Building Authority to implement the planned crossing aid on State Road 2369 earlier than originally assumed.

It is intended to defuse the danger point – the cycle path crosses state road 2369 at Breslauer Weg.

There was a fatal accident there last year.

A cyclist and a motorcyclist have died.

As an immediate measure, an overtaking ban was ordered.

In the longer term, a traffic island should be created.

The project was actually supposed to be tackled this year, after the federal government had surprisingly reimbursed the funds already paid to the federal states for roadside inspections (we reported).

The commissioned company could not start this year, however, Goldstein told the state building authority - the section of road is on unincorporated territory, the city is not responsible there.

"The construction of the crossing aid is currently planned for spring 2023."

bus stops

For a year now, passengers have been able to use the X-Bus to travel every 20 minutes from Bad Tölz via Geretsried and Wolfratshausen to Starnberg.

In order to strengthen the offer, Geretsried is expanding the bus stops in the city area.

A bus platform and bicycle racks have already been built on the B11 near the town hall.

But not everything is finished yet.

"The bus shelters are not available," says Müller.

An upgrade is also planned for “Am Stern”.

Both stops are to be equipped with so-called dynamic passenger information, i.e. digital display boards.

"We'll probably get the masts later this year, but not the scoreboards," Goldstein said.

The civil engineering work has been completed so far, but some of the power connections are still missing.

town hall conversion

The roof of the town hall has to be renewed - and the administration needs more space.

For this reason, additional jobs are to be created in the attic.

The work was supposed to start in the spring, but the approval and deliveries were delayed, reported Janine Kleiber from the building authority.

Now the interior demolition will start on December 19th.

"That's unusual, but the carpenter assured me that he would only open the roof when the weather is good." This is to happen in four stages.

Scaffolding and stairs are being built at the town hall.

According to Kleiber, the noisy work will be associated with restrictions for the employees.

Weddings could be moved to the museum during the week.

"I hope we'll be done by the end of June, but that's very variable in these times."

landfill

Since mid-November, work has been going on at the former household rubbish dump near the allotment garden on Jeschkenstrasse.

It is to be renovated and recultivated.

For this purpose, the surface waste is collected and groundwater measuring points are set up.

Parking Gelting

The parking strips in the eastern commercial area in Gelting are currently being asphalted.

Weather permitting, completion is scheduled for next Monday.
