Blitz by Extinction Rebellion environmentalists in Turin.
The activists poured charcoal-based liquid into the tanks of the two monumental fountains in Piazza Cln, whose waters turned black.
"Soon - they explained - these waters will return to how they were before.
Not so our rivers, which are dying".
The two fountains, built in 1937 by Umberto Baglioni, represent the Po and the Dora.
According to the activists, "the Region is not protecting the mountains and water reserves" and "those who govern us are continuing to look the other way in the face of the climate emergency".
