The photo of the leadership of the reform movement, the women of the Western Wall and the traditional movement, meeting with the president of the country was blurred by the website "Ba Hadari Haredim" • The men in the photo remained with their faces visible • In a mediation process it was determined that the website would publicly apologize

At the end of a mediation process, the ultra-Orthodox website "Ba Hadari Haredim" was ordered today (Sunday) to publicly apologize and pay financial compensation for publishing a story on the website, which included a photo in which the faces of the leaders of the reform movement, the women of the Western Wall and the traditional movement, who attended a meeting with the president of the state, Yitzhak Herzog, were blurred.

The leaders of the movements filed a lawsuit against the website, which went to a mediation process managed by attorney Nurit Heinrich. At the end of the process, as mentioned, it was agreed by the parties that the website would publicly apologize and pay compensation to the claimants.

The case in question happened in December 2021 when a news item was published on the website "Ba Hadari Haredim" about a meeting of the President of the State and members of the Knesset with the leadership of the Reform Movement, the Women of the Wall and the Conservative Movement.

In the photo published in the news, the faces of the men present were visible, but the faces of the women were blurred.

The blurring on the website "Bechadari Haredim",

The women who were photographed - Rakfat Ginsberg, CEO of the traditional movement, Anna Kislansky, CEO of the Reform movement, Orli Erez-Lakhovsky, director of the Reform Center for Religion and State, Yochi Rappaport, CEO of the Women of the Wall, and Tamar Gottlieb, S. Chairman of the Women of the Wall - sued the website on the grounds of discrimination, negligence, defamation and violation of their privacy.

The leadership of the movement that sued the site stated: "Especially in this period when women's rights are under attack, we see great importance in an agreement that clarifies that the exclusion of women is illegal and that exclusion must be paid for. Unfortunately, there are many places in Israel where women are excluded and discriminated against. The movements of liberal Judaism will continue to stand Together at the forefront of the fight for women's rights and against the exclusion of women in the public sphere.'
