Sharm El-Sheikh - SANA
The Syrian teams participating in the 25th regional final of the university programming competition in the Arab world and Africa for the year 2022, organized today by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, won four gold and silver medals.
According to the statement of the organizing committee of the competition, two teams from Al-Baath University and the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology won the two gold medals, while two teams from Damascus University won the two silver medals.
14 Syrian teams participated in the tournament, which is the twelfth consecutive Syrian participation in this tournament.
The Syrian participation in the tournament was distributed as follows: Damascus University 3 teams, Aleppo University 3 teams, Al-Baath University two teams, the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology two teams, the Syrian Virtual University two teams, Tishreen University one team, and the National Private University one team.
The competition included high-level software issues, and is a place for gathering a group of university students, programmers, trainers, and academics working in the field of informatics. It aims to enhance creativity and teamwork, encourage building new software, and enable students to test their capabilities and performance under pressure.
Each team includes three members and a trainer who work on one computer for five continuous hours to solve a set of life issues programmatically, where the first place gets to whoever succeeds in solving the largest number of issues in the shortest possible time.
