Weyarn

- A girl had to be taken to the hospital, a second suffered bruises: Two eight-year-old children were injured in an accident on Friday (December 2) in Holzolling (Weyarn municipality), some seriously.

The driver of the car that hit the children was heavily intoxicated, police said.

According to the police, the collision occurred on Friday evening shortly after 9 p.m. on Westerhamer Strasse (district road MB 17) in the Holzolling district of Weyarn.

A 41-year-old from Haushamer was driving in his Audi on the through-road in the direction of Esterndorf.

At the same time, two eight-year-old girls wanted to cross Westerhamer Strasse at number 12.

According to the police, they ran suddenly between two parked cars on the road.

The Haushamer initiated an emergency brake, but could no longer prevent a collision.

An eight-year-old girl from Reichersbeuern (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district) was hit head-on by the Audi;

the young woman from Reichersbeur broke her lower leg and had to be hospitalized.

Her companion, an eight-year-old girl from Weyarn, ran sideways into the car and escaped with minor injuries in the form of bruises.

In the course of the accident recording, the police noticed a clear smell of alcohol in the 41-year-old Haushamer.

A voluntary breath alcohol test that was then carried out revealed a value above the 1.1 per mille limit.

The officials prohibited further driving, had the Haushamer's driver's license handed over and arranged for blood to be taken.

The car driver from Hausham is now facing criminal proceedings for drunk driving.

In order to clarify the course of the accident more precisely, the Munich II public prosecutor commissioned an accident analysis report.
