Iranian police have arrested two leaders of riots and vandalism of public and private property in the western city of Sanandaj.
The police chief in Sanandaj Ali Azadi said: After the recent riots and disturbances in Sanandaj, in the west of the country, a group of civilians filed a complaint with the police about the destruction of their property by several people, as decisive measures were taken against those who disturbed public order and security.
Azadi continued: Two leaders of riots and vandalism were arrested, weapons and ammunition in their possession were confiscated and referred to the judiciary, warning that foreign media use spreading lies to deceive civilians.
Azadi stressed that those who violate security and destroy public and private property will be dealt with firmly.
