They left an apartment in the city in favor of a private house in Moshav, but the building they bought was outdated and divided into small spaces. At the end of the renovation, it already looks completely different, with a modern country style

When the couple decided to leave their crowded and urban apartment in Ashdod and move to a private house in Moshav Shthoulim, they They chose to plan and redesign it, so that it would suit the family's needs. "It is a 20-year-old house that was designed the way houses used to be designed, with separate and small spaces," says Savta Makovski, the owner of the New View office specializing in interior design. "The couple made this transition Because they wanted to upgrade their standard of living, so we decided to change the house according to the needs - to open it up and enlarge the spaces, so that it would be suitable for entertaining, family stay and spaces for children to play and study."

"It's a house in the village, so it's easy and desirable to design it in a country style, but it's a style that's a bit out of fashion, so we combined it with modern lines."

"In order to do this," she continues, "we broke the partitions between the living room and the kitchen and between the kitchen and the pantry, and that's how we enlarged the kitchen to enormous dimensions and created eye contact between the living room and the kitchen. That way, those who cook and are in the kitchen can communicate with the people in the living room and not feel like they are being punished. Even those who sit Bai can be in touch and talk to the living room's occupants."

In addition, a partition between the general bathroom and the service balcony was also eliminated, which made the room much more spacious.

The house is designed in a rustic but light and not heavy style, at the request of the customers.

"It's a house in a village, so it's easy and desirable to design it in a country style," explains the designer.

"However, on the one hand it is a style that is a bit out of fashion and on the other hand it gives warmth to the home and not everyone connects to the clean lines of the modern style. That is why we chose a design that combines the styles. The color palette in the house is light - gray and beige with touches of green that are reflected in the textiles Or in furniture, for example. We chose a palette based on neutral tones so that in the future they can make changes and adjustments if they want to change. The flooring, colors and kitchen are in neutral tones, so design adjustments can be made easily in the future."

The house is built on two floors - on the central entrance floor are the public spaces - and they include a living room, kitchen and dining area, as well as a bathroom and a bathroom for guests. The family members often host friends and relatives and the designer was asked to create accommodation solutions for 10 guests at the same time.

In the kitchen, cladding was chosen A light-colored polymeric material, which makes it possible to produce facades with frames that will be durable over time, even when used by families with small children. "I preferred to use this material instead of painting in the oven according to the needs of the family members.

We chose delicate frames and golden handles," explains Makovski. The island separates the kitchen and the living room and next to it is a column that remains from the original design and is covered with bricks. The living room is decorated in neutral shades of gray.

On the top floor are the four bedrooms for the parents and the children, and in the center of the floor in an open space between the rooms - a family corner which is a kind of secondary living room for the use of family members.

In the corner is a modular sofa decorated with different textures and colored cushions that correspond with each other, and it creates a bright color that brings energy to the corner, which also includes a TV and video games.

Since there are no televisions in the children's rooms, the corner invites the family members to spend time together.

"When we designed the children's rooms, we asked the children about their favorite colors and according to their answers we added touches of color on the walls or in the furniture, in the textiles or in the pictures hanging on the walls. For the baby's room I chose wallpaper with enlarged pictures that would give the feeling that it is a large space, so that she would be intrigued by the space. In addition We have created a play corner and an accessible storage solution for toys, all in bright colors suitable for a baby girl."

"In the parents' bedroom I created a closet and in each children's room we adapted a closet to a designated niche, which made it easier for us in terms of position and location," says the designer.

"Each of the children's rooms has a ceiling-high closet that meets all their requirements and needs, and is also used for storage. The closets were custom-designed to accommodate multiple storage spaces that would remain behind the doors and thus maintain order in the rooms. We made a decision not to compromise on the closets because, unlike the rest of the furniture, they will change as the children will grow, the cabinets will always be used by them. That's why we also ordered them in neutral shades that will match any design or color."
