Against the background of the continuation of the negotiations with Torah Judaism, Parosh wants to be the responsible party that implements the conclusions of the investigation committee that was established after the disaster at the compound. This, despite the fact that he opposed its establishment. Party officials claim: "The management of the event by an ultra-orthodox party will bring the best result."

About two years after the grave disaster at the revelry at the grave of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai on Mount Meron, Knesset member Meir Proosh from Torah Judaism, who is expected to be appointed to the position of minister for Jerusalem, demands that the Likud accept, within the framework of his position, the sole responsibility in the government for the management of the mass event at the complex.

Proosh, third in the party, also wants to be the responsible party to implement the conclusions of the state commission of inquiry established after the disaster by the Bennet-Lapid government.

This, despite the fact that he opposed its establishment and said that "time will tell what corruptions this committee will issue to the life of the organized ultra-Orthodox public here in Israel."

In the disaster, 45 people lost their lives, and more than 150 other people were injured.

Parosh is also a representative of the small Hasids represented by the Agudath Israel faction, and the transfer of sole control over the event to him raises the fear that many bonfires will be held on Mount Miron, more than what the investigative committee recommended in the interim conclusions it published on the eve of last year's revelry.

Sources familiar with the details of the negotiations claim that the demand "is under discussion" and that no final decision has been made on the matter.

However, other sources in Torah Judaism claim that "the management of the revelry by an ultra-Orthodox party will bring the best result", this is based on the conclusions of the investigative committee.

In August, the state investigation committee sent warning letters to 18 people involved - including then-prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, then-ministers Amir Ohana and Yaakov Avitan, and police commissioner Kobi Shabtai. At the end of its work, the committee may formulate personal conclusions against those warned. Along with its determinations regarding their part in the failure , the committee can recommend, similar to previous investigative committees, that those who are warned cannot continue in their position, or that they will not be able to fulfill a certain role in the future. In the interim conclusions, the committee determined that a minister responsible for the revelry should be appointed, the number of participants should be regulated and "urgent steps should be taken to improve infrastructure." According to them , "From the materials that came to the committee and from testimonies, it emerged that the number of people that can be accommodated simultaneously in the area, in a safe manner, is approximately 20 thousand."
