More than 500 works of art in the seventh meeting of children's arts in Homs

About 200 children and art teachers presented their creative productions in various fields through the seventh forum for children's arts, which was organized by the Vanguards of the Baath Organization in Homs, under the title (Creative Hands Draw from Light) in the city's cultural center.

The forum, which lasts for two days, opened today with an exhibition of artworks that included more than 500 works of art between origami, Ajami, wood burning, painting on glass, works of environmental harmony, art paintings, popular costumes, rose making, woolen handicrafts, and carpets.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Faten Mahmoud, a member of the leadership of the Homs branch of the Baath Vanguards and head of the Culture and Fine Arts Bureau, indicated that the forum includes all disciplines of fine arts. And children, and the exhibition today is the product of their work.

She added that 4 workshops were organized that will continue their work over two days during the forum in the areas of wood burning, painting on glass, flower making and carpets.

And the supervisor of the first avant-garde region, Abdul Baset Odeh, stated that what distinguishes the exhibition this year is the participation of the largest number of children at the governorate level, in addition to art teachers and schools of applied activities.

Art School Georgette Turkiyeh from Al-Basel First School for Applied Activities said: The children showed their creative talents, and expressed their different ideas in various arts under the supervision of specialized teachers, and relied on harmonizing the environment and recycling materials with the simplest capabilities and tools, while the Art School Catherine Skaff stated that the exhibition was an opportunity To present the work of the teachers as well and to show the various skills.

The first day of the forum included a carnival performance of traditional folk costumes on the stage of the writer Sami Al-Droubi Hall, a folk dance performance and educational lectures in partnership with various ministries.

The media, Nadia Ibrahim, stated that she participated in the forum through a lecture in which she talked about children's arts and the child's first attempts at drawing during the early stages of life, and how the child tries to communicate with the environment through drawing.

Among the participants in the exhibition, children specializing in painting on glass, Sham Abdel-Ghani, Jana Kanjo, Nour Al-Sakka, Abdel-Khalek Bakhit, Hamza Shablot and Hanin Hadid, who indicated that the forum helped them present their artistic productions to those interested, and encouraged them to present more in this field.

The child Mohsen Ali Skaf indicated that the Arts Forum has become a distinguished annual station that the children of the Vanguards of the Baath in Homs wait for every year to present their most beautiful works and handicrafts.
