Today (4th) is the "National Constitution Day". This year coincides with the 40th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the "Constitution of the People's Republic of China". The team, together with other youth uniform groups, held a flag-raising ceremony for the 40th anniversary of the Constitution at the Hong Kong Customs College to enhance the community's understanding of the Constitution and promote the spirit of the Constitution.

After the flag was raised, a flag-lowering ceremony was held at the scene, and all the people mourned the memory of former President Jiang Zemin in silence.

The flag-raising ceremony was kicked off by the military music of the disciplined forces and the band. Nine youth teams marched into the arena. The disciplined forces honor guard and the flag-guarding square team then entered the flag-raising ceremony with Chinese-style marching. The national anthem was played and sung on site. Team helicopters salute in the air.

After the flag was hoisted, the flag-guarding team held a ceremony of lowering the flag at half-staff, and all the attendees observed a moment of silence to commemorate the passing of the late former President Jiang Zemin.

In his speech, Secretary for Justice Lam Ting-kwok said that the Constitution is the "root" and "source" of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the constitutional foundation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

He said that today's Constitution Day flag-raising ceremony is of special significance, because this year marks the 40th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the current "Constitution", and also the 40th anniversary of the country's establishment of the special administrative region system.

He encouraged young people to learn from an early age and develop good qualities of understanding the Constitution, respecting the Constitution, and consciously safeguarding the rule of law and abiding by the law.

Teams participating in the flag-raising ceremony came from Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, Government Flying Service, Correctional Services Department, Fire Services Department, Police Force and Immigration Department.

In addition, the youth teams of various disciplined services and auxiliary services, together with other youth uniformed groups, also participated, including the Customs Youth Leaders Group, Correctional Services Department Rehabilitation Pioneer Leaders, Fire and Ambulance Youth Corps, Junior Police Call, Immigration Department Youth Leadership Corps, Auxiliary Medical Service Junior Corps, Civil Aid Service Junior Corps, Hong Kong Cadet Army Association and Hong Kong Airline Youth Corps.

The Security Bureau also set up a constitutional education area for guests and young people attending the event to visit, and organized the "National Constitution Day in My Eyes" photo contest, allowing young people to express their creativity on the "National Constitution Day" through cameras and online platforms What they see and feel to enhance their national awareness and national identity, and on the spot, the Secretary for Security, Tang Bingqiang, and the heads of the disciplined services, auxiliary forces or youth groups will present exquisite prizes.
