The district medical association has elected a new board of directors.

The Gmund family doctor Thomas Straßmüller remains at the top.

District

– The Medical District Association (ÄKV) Miesbach represents, among other things, the professional interests of doctors in the district and thus also serves the patients.

As scheduled after five years, the members elected the new board - with little changing in terms of personnel.

There's something new about the content goals.

Straßmüller: "With the corona pandemic, turbulent times are behind us"

The Gmund general practitioner Thomas Straßmüller will remain at the head of the association for another five years.

Mirko Barone, Senior Physician at Agatharied Hospital, will continue to assume the role of Deputy Chairman.

Mirjam Schrön, Monika Högl, Dirk Hamann, Peter Wellner and Stefan Heberger remain as assessors.

Martin Schardey did not stand for election.

For him and for Markus Klos, Christoph Menzel and Steffen Herdtle are new board members.

The constituent meeting is still pending.

Straßmüller explains: "With the corona pandemic, we have turbulent times behind us." The new board first has to get organized.

The main tasks, which include the organization of medical training, have already been set.

"We would like to delegate the design of the training courses to a board member," says the chairman.

Boundaries between outpatient and inpatient care are blurring

Overall, the doctors have become more aware of the value of the district association.

"The overarching connection between the doctors makes sense and is important," says Straßmüller.

The association is faced with new challenges, for example with the structural change in care.

The boundaries between inpatient and outpatient services would become more fluid;

Clinics are more active in the outpatient sector.

Here the district association, as a cross-sectoral structure, has an important function for the organization.

That's another reason, says Straßmüller, that it's a good thing that different areas are covered on the board.

Dirk Hamann, for example, works in the rehabilitation sector, Peter Wellner and Steffen Herdtle in the hospital.
