Nine people have been killed and eight others are missing due to the flooding of the Joksky River in South Africa.
The Associated Press quoted rescue officials in the city of Johannesburg as saying that the flooding of the river came after its level rose as a result of the heavy rains that the country witnessed during the past three months, which resulted in the death of nine people and the loss of eight others who had gathered near the river.
Rescue officials said authorities had warned residents not to approach the river, and search and rescue operations were continuing to find survivors.
