A Neurieder (85) fell asleep on the handlebars of his car on Saturday afternoon.
Only when it crashed did he wake up.

– Because he fell asleep at the wheel, an 85-year-old from Neuried caused an accident on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Planegg police report, the senior drove down Gautinger Strasse in Neuried around 1 p.m.
"At the level of Parkstraße, he left the right lane for an initially unknown reason and got into oncoming traffic," writes the police.
He touched the vehicle of an oncoming 73-year-old Planegger on the left side of the vehicle.

Neurieder openly admitted to the officers who recorded the accident that he fell asleep briefly while driving.
He woke up again at the moment of impact.
The collision resulted in a total loss of around 30,000 euros on the Neurieder's car.
According to initial estimates, the damage to the car is around 10,000 euros.
Nobody got hurt.
Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be towed by a company.
According to the police, the cause of the accident is now expected to be reported as a danger to road traffic.
