Reconquest celebrates its one year and hopes to weigh in political life

2022-12-04T17:08:36.082Z

For the first anniversary of his party, Eric Zemmour reassured his desire to last on the political scene.

Like an air of deja vu.

This Sunday, at the Palais des Sports in Paris, Reconquête!, Eric Zemmour's party blew out its first candle, at the very place where the ousted presidential candidate held his end-of-campaign meeting.

A year after the first meeting in Villepinte, which brought together some 12,000 people, the militant ranks have closed, but the room is almost full: 4,000 registered people have made the trip.

An air of nostalgia floats in the air.

"

It was good, though...

“, we hear, on the right, on the left.

By way of opening: a retrospective of the best songs of the campaign.

A few elders, who have since taken their distance from the party, are discreetly present in the ranks.

No trace, however, of Philippe de Villiers, Gilbert Collard or Jean Frédérique Poisson, who could not free themselves.

“We have to show that we do things”

For this first anniversary, the party's challenge can be summed up in one word: re-membership.

The 130,000 claimed members form the base on which Reconquête intends to rely to wage its political battle.

The leaders hope, for the time being, to save half of it.

An intensive campaign was therefore launched, with one particularity: the possibility of joining for one, two, three, four or five years, and also to choose the amount of membership.

The idea is to keep our members as long as possible

“says a frame.

To convince, the party of Eric Zemmour hopes to prove that it has a militant usefulness on the public scene.

It is therefore a question of repeating, in front of a conquered public, the actions carried out since the return to politics.

The “vigilant parents” network, in particular, which had the effect of canceling the visit of a preparatory class in Calais last week.

"I

t must show that we are doing things, and that Reconquest has always been on the initiative

", supports Agnès Marion, former member of the National Rally, and responsible for the device.

And to motivate activists to take back their cards, all the faces of Reconquest!

are brought to the fore.

Stanislas Rigault, president of Generation Z opens the ball, followed by the three vice-presidents Guillaume Peltier, Marion Maréchal and Nicolas Bay, who lend themselves to a game of questions and answers.

The opportunity to return, again, to the need for the union of rights, the fight against immigration, taxes, or “

the influence of LGBT lobbies in schools

”.

And Eric Zemmour goes on stage.

In his speech, an assurance: “

Let all those who predict our death bear one thing in mind: we have just been born.

We fight for ideas and translate them into reality to achieve concrete victories every day

“, Still assures the president of the party, swearing that Reconquest will be of each election.

The ethnic argument

And for the last part of his speech, Eric Zemmour passes a semantic course, by appealing to the ethnic argument.

To explain the rise of violence in society, the former journalist details four "

engines

".

The first: “

The ethnic heterogeneity of our societies: the more a society is ethnically heterogeneous, the more violent and conflictual it is.

It is the distance between the executioner and the victim which facilitates the passage to the act, because the dissimilarity makes it possible to dehumanize.

Applause in the rows.

The meeting ends, like those of last year, with the cries of the public, and on a thundering Marseillaise.

Eric Zemmour assures him: “

I will now continue to defend my ideas, but with a formidable arsenal at my disposal: you.
