When he was 31 years old, Arthur Lazarev, a former Givat patrol fighter, did not have much time left to live, after contracting Huntington's disease - a rare and incurable disease that would turn him into a nursing home in a few years.

Arthur, who previously announced that he intends to end his life on his own initiative, presented a unique, funny, sad and moving stand-up show at an event of the "Shavim" website in collaboration with the Lottery at the Yemen Field base of the Givati Brigade, a day before the "Lila Segol" events, which were held this year on December 1 After an entire country was swept away last year.

"In my show you see everything," says Arthur, who is leading a fight for a drug that can ease his suffering and about 500 other Huntington's patients in Israel.

"There is no such thing as black humor and everything is fine as far as I'm concerned."

"There is no drug that cures the disease, but there is a drug that alleviates the symptoms," says Arthur's friend.

"Arthur is trying to raise awareness of the disease, because the medicine is very expensive. We would like them to put it in the medicine basket and ease the patients' symptoms."

During the event, there was even a performance by the band "Gedolim in uniform" - the military volunteer band made up of soldiers with disabilities.

Purple Night events
