Weather: main roads blocked by snow in Lozère

While the first snow arrived in force this weekend in the French mountains, the Massif Central was particularly affected.

Since Saturday evening, large snowflakes have been falling continuously in the Mont Lozère massif, south of the mountain range.

The layer, which reaches 20 centimeters, blocks the A75 motorway north of Lozère.

In two hours, 18 centimeters of snow fell in this department in the northeast of the Occitanie region.

At the height of the Monts-Verts, dozens of motorists were blocked on Sunday afternoon.

The rains stopped around 5 p.m., and snowplows are on site to try to unblock the motorway, the highest in Europe.

At 3:30 p.m., no intervention was recorded in connection with the snow in the department, according to the firefighters.
