Today, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs held a celebration for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, entitled (You Are Able), at the Arab Cultural Center in the city. From private and charitable associations.
In a speech during the inauguration, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, Eng. Samar Mustafa, indicated everyone's responsibility to enhance the role of people with disabilities and develop their talents and abilities, by providing the necessary environment and providing all forms of care and support for them to overcome their various disabilities and to be able and active in society.
In her turn, Sahar Al-Akhras, a member of the Board of Directors of the Child Welfare Association, noted the participation of the association's children and adolescents in the celebration and exhibition, as the association receives children from the age of 4 to 15 years, and it also works to care for adolescents from the age of 17 to 35 years.
The Director of the Institute for Special Education for People with Cerebral Palsy, Abeer Hula, pointed out that every year the children of the Institute participate in the celebration and display their handicrafts and drawings. This year, 30 children from the age of 4 to 14 were received.
The Director of the Institute of Special Education for the Care of Persons with Hearing Impairment, Dr. Nisreen Darwish, indicated that this year the institute includes 40 children from 4 to 12 years old, and they participate annually in the celebration with artistic paragraphs using sign language, and in the art exhibition with their creative products and drawings.
