Even if the financing is still being debated: the 49-euro ticket is intended to make public transport far cheaper.
In which cities you save the most.
The Deutschland-Ticket has not yet been finally approved and financed, but hope is growing: From April 1, according to current plans (and thus later than originally hoped), everyone will be able to use local public transport nationwide for a standard monthly price of 49 euros .
For some travelers and commuters, switching from the normal monthly pass will not be worthwhile, for others even more so.

The transport companies will discontinue more expensive tariffs and some complicated zone calculations anyway.
This will undoubtedly make things easier for most public transport users.
But for whom will the trips be cheaper, and by how much specifically?
The consumer portal calculated this in
test reports
for larger cities, and found some quite interesting sums.
That's how much inner-city commuters save every month with the 49-euro ticket - from a lot to a little

49-euro ticket: In some cities it is already cheap today
In Hamburg, which has so far been expensive, public transport commuters save a lot, in Berlin mediocre, but not at all in neighboring Potsdam, because monthly tickets are already quite cheap there.
Of course, it should be noted that the previous prices usually refer to the city area.
Until now, those who travel into and out of a city from outside often have to book much more expensive fares - and save correspondingly more with the 49-euro ticket.
