A theatrical performance within the 16-day campaign in Al-Hasakah

The Syrian Society for Social Development, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, organized an awareness-raising show as part of the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence, on the stage of the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Hasakah.

And the coordinator of the “Beit al-Kul Center” in the association, Abdel Salam Abdo, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that during the event, a set of theatrical excerpts were presented that dealt with some negative social issues and phenomena that women are exposed to and the need for community solidarity to get rid of these phenomena.

Volunteer Sulaf Al-Ezzo indicated that the theatrical performance shed light on some negative phenomena that women are exposed to and the violence practiced against them by some, on the basis of which the scripts for the theatrical performance were written and built.

In turn, the volunteer, Rama Al-Youssef, explained that she embodied the role of battered women, the negative impact on her life and psyche, and the negligence of some women in their rights in this field.

It is noteworthy that charities and development agencies in Al-Hasakah governorate participate in the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence, by holding educational, cultural and entertainment activities.
