Summary.
The political future of Adrien Quatennens is written today in dotted lines.
The coordinator of La France insoumise was expected to succeed Jean-Luc Mélenchon at the head of the Insoumis.
But in early September, several media reported that a judicial investigation was opened by the Lille prosecutor's office for suspicion of "violence by spouse", following a handrail filed by the wife of the LFI deputy.
On September 18, in a press release, the elected official acknowledges violence on his wife, admits having "gave her a slap" and announces that he will withdraw from his duties.
On November 23, after a complaint was filed against him at the end of September, Céline Quatennens made new accusations against him, denouncing “physical and moral violence” which had lasted for “several years”.
For Source Code, Pierre Maurer and Julien Duffé, journalists at the Parisian Political Service, return to the Quatennens affair and the political career of the LFI deputy.
