After days of full blocking for motor vehicles due to an accident, cars are allowed to drive again on a damaged high bridge over the Kiel Canal.
"The first static calculations have shown that cars can be driven on," said Transport Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen (independent) on Monday.
The start is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 a.m.
Kiel – From 9:00 p.m., car traffic should be stopped again to continue setting up the construction sites.
Buses and trucks will have to continue to make long detours for the time being.
The regulation only applies to the 25-year-old Prince Heinrich Bridge.
The parallel, heavily damaged 50-year-old Olympic Bridge remains closed to motor vehicles, with the exception of ambulances and police vehicles.
Pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to cross both bridges.
A crane on a ship damaged both bridges last Wednesday.
