Today, Algeria and China signed the executive plan for the joint construction of the (Belt and Road) initiative, and the tripartite plan for cooperation in important areas.
The Algerian Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “Within the framework of strengthening the existing comprehensive strategic partnership between Algeria and the People’s Republic of China, and deepening the historical and qualitative relations between the two friendly countries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Lifang, signed the plan remotely. Executive for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the tripartite plan, for cooperation in important areas between 2022 and 2024.
The statement added, "The executive plan for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative is another building block for deepening and greater appreciation of cooperation within the framework of the initiative, which Algeria joined in 2018," noting that the tripartite plan for cooperation in important areas is another practical mechanism of the bilateral mechanisms to push forward. Cooperation in the main economic fields that are given priority in the development policy of the two parties.
The signing of these two documents comes after the two parties concluded on the 8th of last November the second five-year plan for the comprehensive strategic partnership 2022 to 2026.
