Peace for the world was the main theme of the Advent singing, which could be heard in almost every song.

The popular concert is organized every two years by the parish council of Hohenpolding and was met with great enthusiasm by the visitors in the parish church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.

Hohenpolding - The contemplative hour was opened with a festive wind piece by the Hohenpolding wind group under the direction of Anton Gerbl.

Robert Grandinger, Chairman of the Parish Council, was pleased with the many guests and said that today was the time for a little rest, reflection and switching off.

The Hohenpolding Young Choir had teamed up with the Hohenpolding-Steinkirchen Choir for the Advent singing.

The singers performed a wide variety of Advent songs, in which they demonstrated their singing skills: from the quiet "Gott ist quite quiet" to the brisk "Longing for Light" with instrumental accompaniment with piano, guitar, electric bass flute and cajon.

The choir with more than 30 voices is conducted by Maria Götz.

Ruth Pitz-Schmidhuber, former community officer in the parish association, could not be absent with her music group.

With the piece "A Light in a Dark Time" and the "Lohmer Dreigesang" she brought the spirit of Advent into the church.

Instrumental pieces followed.

Also taking part were the Vuisaitmusi with wonderful harp, guitar and Jew's harp pieces, Paula Fischer with fine guitar sounds, and the Hofstarringer girls delighted with flute music.

Between the musical performances, pastoral assistant Michael Schenke read contemplative texts on Advent and Christmas.

Finally, as a whole choir, all participants sang the traditional song together with the visitors: "Pace e bene".

The mighty sound filled the entire church, an uplifting feeling.

Pastor Jacek Jamiolkowski wished a nice Advent season and peace.

The audience appreciated this concert at a remarkably high level with prolonged applause.

This successful evening came to an end with mulled wine and cookies on the church square.
