Jude Bellingham, the 19-year-old midfielder for the England team, has been described as one of the surprises of this World Cup in Qatar 2022. José Sámano, a journalist for EL PAÍS, has described his performance as a kind of inheritance from other great footballers .
“He is a player who follows a kind of line of succession that has been in England.
He reminds me a lot of [Steven] Gerrard, like [Frank] Lampard," the journalist revealed.
For the footballer to stand out even more in the plays, Sámano mentions that he has in Declan Rice, also a midfielder, a partner to make good plays.
"I think there is a complement there between the two, which is one of the keys to this England that we still need to see a team that will squeeze it, that is going to be France", he asserted.
England defeated Senegal last Saturday with a score of 3-0 and secured their place in the quarter-finals.
