In days gone by, members of the community climbed the
Lloco Iloco
hill accompanied by a priest to pray for the arrival of rain.
The inhabitants implored God and the local indigenous deities for a change in the climate that plagues the region.
In Bolivia, an emergency has been declared due to the drought, which is forecast to end until 2023. Crops in Peru, Argentina and Paraguay have also been affected.
