Ulrich Fischer makes a lively impression and is far from dying.

Nevertheless, DHL now declared him "presumably deceased".

How it came about.

Zorneding

- "I don't want to make a big deal out of it now, but I depend on the deliveries.

It just has to work reliably,” says Fischer.

He runs a café in Zorneding and had ordered groceries for it.

But that turned out to be a complicated task.

The first order went nowhere.

Fischer ordered them from the sender company because the food would not last as long.

Then, on November 22, the second shipment was sent.

But that didn't reach him either.

“You could have told us you passed away”

Fischer asked – at DHL and the sender company.

From the he finally found out about the curious reason.

"You could have told us that you died," said the sender on the phone smugly to Fischer.

In the history of the shipment it says: "The shipment cannot be delivered because the recipient is believed to have died."

He still hasn't received an answer from DHL.

“They have to put their process chains in order.

The left hand obviously doesn't know what the right hand is doing," he complains.

DHL says: "Of course we regret that the customer was not satisfied with our service."

This is DHL's statement

The explanation is as follows: "According to the statement of our deliverer, he also had a package for delivery for the customer on the day before (November 23) of the incident described." The customer refused to accept it.

"Our deliverer understood the customer so that he could also book for November 24th.

expected a package and would refuse to accept it again," explains a spokesman for the group.

So the courier returned the package.

"The fact that he typed 'deceased' was an accident and was not intentional." This was an unfortunate exceptional case, possibly a misunderstanding.

"The rubric "should have died" is rarely used and only if this is really known," says DHL.

In the meantime, the package posse has come to a happy end.

"On Tuesday I ordered delivery for the third time, and it actually arrived on Thursday," reports the café operator.

"I'm alive again," rejoices Zornedinger.

Why he is now alive again for DHL is completely beyond him.

DHL makes it clear: "Delivery to this address is the same as before and the packages are delivered."
