For eight million employees and public officials, the end-of-year celebrations rhyme with various bonuses that strengthen purchasing power.

It's not just children who are eagerly awaiting Santa's visit.

At this time of year, employees are also in a hurry to receive their gifts, sent by CSEs, companies or communities.

Indeed, 145,000 of them should pay gift vouchers to eight million employees and public officials in 2021, according to a new study conducted by Harris Interactive for the A3C (Professional Association of Issuers of Checks and Gift Cards).

On average, for the happy beneficiaries, the average amount of these gift vouchers and culture vouchers is 130 euros.

A boost that falls overwhelmingly (76%) at Christmas time and will be used immediately after.

10% of respondents say they consume them within a week, 33% within a month and 29% within three months.

On average, the period of use is about 56 days.

These small gifts seem to give ideas to their holders.

According to the survey, nearly one out of two beneficiaries would make purchases not initially planned, and a third would increase the amount.

Unsurprisingly, the value of desired gifts rarely coincides with the amount of titles available.

61% therefore decide to fill the gap by digging into their pockets.

The difference is far from negligible: on average, the average basket would be 206 euros, to put against the 130 euros of checks paid.

For beneficiaries of cultural titles, the amounts will mainly be used in whole or in part, for the purchase of paper books (41%), cinema, concert or theater tickets (39%), or even in video games or software (34%).

At the same time, holders of gift vouchers tend to turn to clothing and accessories (37%), games and toys (36%) or household appliances (34%).
