"There is a historic change":

President Yitzhak Herzog today (Monday) held a briefing in Abu Dhabi for the journalists who accompanied him on his historic visit to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

"The visit is an opportunity to do a two-year inventory of the Abraham agreements. It started as an agreement, turned into ties between countries and now both countries want to upgrade the agreements and are building on adding more countries," Herzog said, adding: "This is the flow of consciousness in the meetings, that's why this visit was very important , also to Israel."

Herzog added: "They have an attitude of coming in peace and not in conflict. The Bahrainis believe in ties with the Jewish community. They speak of the Jews with admiration. This shows the enormous change in the paradigm in the dialogue between countries and peoples."

Herzog even referred to the new government and the Abraham Accords.

"This obliges the Israeli top brass to understand that this challenge continues. The challenge of the Abraham Accords is surely important to everyone and everyone understands it. There is a historic change being made."

A source in the president's entourage to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates added: "They look around and what do they see? Everything that Iran touches has become a desert and wasteland. It starts in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon. Countries that used to cooperate and now nothing. The big break is Iraq, which is fading away. They see the Iraq is extremely worried. In terms of Israel's security, these relations are critical.

"Bahrain sees itself as a gateway to the Far East, to India to China to the Arab world, in terms of transporting goods. They felt like the little sister of the Emirates and announced that there would be daily flights to Bahrain. Both countries want to be part of a regional configuration, which all the leaders are talking about. This will require a government effort to move in a more collaborative direction Regional action with other countries. Everyone is talking to everyone. The energies are very positive. This is noticeable. Our respect is equal to their leaders' respect. the fruits of peace for their peoples."

It is estimated that Saudi Arabia is another country that may join the Abraham Accords, but the matter has not yet matured into a practical move.

It is about the Saudi leadership putting its people through a process, but at the same time they want to get more things from the Americans.

Other countries that may be on the agenda in terms of peace agreements with Israel are Oman and possibly Kuwait in the distant future.

Also, during President Herzog's visit to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, the issue of the Temple Mount came up and the Arab countries emphasized that they want the status quo on the Temple Mount to be maintained.
