An Iranian traffic policeman was killed as a result of injuries he sustained last night, following an armed attack in the city of Chabahar, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeast of the country.
The commander of the internal security forces in the province, Brigadier General Muhammad Qanbari, said in a statement today: “Gunmen shot two traffic policemen yesterday evening while they were working in the “Dakka Bazaar” located on Imam Khomeini Street in Chabahar city, then they fled.
He pointed out that the two policemen were taken to the hospital, but one of them died of his injuries, while the other is still undergoing treatment, stressing that a special team has been formed to investigate the crime and reveal its circumstances.
