The Governor of Damascus, Eng. Muhammad Tariq Krishati, discussed with the Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Syria, Amanya Michael Eby, strengthening cooperation and efforts to secure the return of the displaced to their homes in the Yarmouk camp, and infrastructure rehabilitation projects that can be implemented in the next phase and expanding the services provided. .

Krishati stressed that the governorate continues to provide all facilities for the return of the people to their homes in the camp within the conditions of the structural safety of the homes and the required approvals, and in accordance with the regulations and laws and to provide all the support required for the agency's relief and humanitarian work in Damascus.

Krishati explained that the governorate has carried out work to rehabilitate the sewage and drinking water network and secure means of transportation, in addition to opening the Noor Center for Community Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the United Nations Population Fund, and continues to provide the required support to rehabilitate the necessary infrastructure in cooperation with all international organizations, stressing that The unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people contribute greatly to obstructing the rehabilitation of the camp's infrastructure, especially the rehabilitation of the power station.

Ebi, in turn, expressed his thanks for the efforts made by the Syrian government to rehabilitate the infrastructure in the camp, facilitate the return of the displaced to their homes, and provide all forms of support required for its work in Damascus and all Syrian governorates, indicating that the agency's priority is to work on rehabilitating its facilities in the camp to put them into service.
