All the necessary signatures for the appointment of the Speaker of the Knesset have been obtained - this was stated this evening (Monday) in a message delivered on behalf of the Likud. The party stated that the 64 MKs belonging to the future coalition have submitted the signatures, alongside significant progress in the coalition negotiations.

Now, after the submission of the signatures to Speaker of the Knesset Miki Levy, he should set a date for the vote on his replacement, on Wednesday or next Monday.

After the voting date is set, Prime Minister-designate Likud shooter Binyamin Netanyahu will have to decide which Hak in Likud will be elected to the position of chairman. In Likud there are many contenders for the position, Ofir Akunis, Yoav Kish, Dodi Amsalem and Danny Danon. Netanyahu has so far postponed the decision on the shooter's identity, Among other things, to complete the round of distribution of cases to partners in the government and to include the chairman in the overall distribution of duties to Likud members.

The schedule for the swearing in of the government is getting shorter.

Netanyahu's 28-day mandate should end at the end of this coming week, and he may request an extension of 14 more days from President Yitzhak Herzog.

The Netanyahu bloc estimates that the swearing-in will take place at the last minute, during the days of Hanukkah.

Until then, apart from the appointment of a new Knesset Speaker, the coalition members are required to advance legislation such as a change to the Basic Law: the government to authorize the appointment of Aryeh Deri as a minister despite his conviction for tax offenses, an amendment to the police order that will allow Ben Gabir powers over the police, amendments required to benefit Bezalel's authority Smotrich in the Ministry of Defense as well as the repeal of the law that allows for the split of four MKs from an existing faction to a new faction in the Knesset, a law that Netanyahu wants to repeal soon in order to neutralize the threat of the group of MKs threatening Likud.

Tomorrow, the regulatory committee headed by MK Yoav Kish is expected to convene and establish two temporary committees, one of which is a special committee whose role will be to regulate the entire legislative procedure in question within a short period of two weeks at most.
