Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev confirmed that it is not possible to imagine what will happen to energy prices after setting a ceiling for the price of Russian oil, stressing that European consumers are the most affected by this.
Medvedev said on his channel on the Telegram website: “It is amazing how humanity likes to tread on the same sharpened shovel in an attempt to regulate prices according to political conditions. These attempts always end with the disappearance of a product or an increase in its prices. This is what will happen with oil. Of course it will not. It disappears but the unimaginable will happen to prices,” he said, adding: “There is a strong desire of Western politicians to plunge into cold water so that later in the elections they can show off their determination.”
And Medvedev continued: There is one thing that is clear, there will be nothing easy for consumers, this is for sure .. So they have to stock up on cotton blankets and hot water boilers .. Everything is still ahead of us and winter has just begun.
And Western oil sanctions entered into force today, as the European Union stopped accepting Russian oil transportation by sea, and the G7 countries, Australia and the European Union imposed a limit on the price of maritime transport at $60 a barrel, to which Russia responded that it would not accept a ceiling for oil prices, even if had to cut production.
