In Likud they announced that all factions of the right-wing bloc submitted the signatures to replace MK Miki Levy in his position • The party added that significant progress has been made in recent hours to establish a new government

The Likud party announced this evening (Monday) that all factions of the national camp have submitted the signatures to replace Knesset Speaker Miki Levy. The party added that significant progress has been made in recent hours to establish a new government.

Just yesterday (Sunday) it was reported that Netanyahu intends to request the extension of the mandate period from the president due to the lack of success in gathering 61 signatures to replace the Speaker of the Knesset.

During last week, after Aryeh Deri and Ben Gvir criticized the fact that almost a month had passed since the election date and still the forming coalition had not replaced the current speaker of the Knesset, Miki Levy, Smotrich announced that he agreed to sign the replacement of the speaker.

But then Netanyahu had a new minefield on the matter.

The Torah Judaism faction is the only faction that refused to sign the replacement of the speaker of the Knesset on the grounds that the Likud disregards its demands in the negotiations.

Currently, it is estimated that the inauguration of the government will take place next week.

This created a short time window for legislation in the winter conference which is expected to end at the end of March.

According to the agreements between the partnership, by the time the government is sworn in, the coalition plans to enact three laws within a week.

The top priority is the enactment of the "Deri Law": an amendment to the Basic Law: The Government, which will exempt Deri from the question of disgrace, so that the court and the Central Election Commission cannot disqualify his appointment as a minister.

Now, with the obtaining of the signatures and the election of a new chairman on behalf of the forming coalition, "Deri's law" will indeed be able to pass.

The current chairman of the Knesset, MK Miki Levy, said: "I received an unusual request from 64 members of the Knesset to put on the agenda a vote to elect a chairman for the 25th Knesset.

Therefore, I determined that on this coming Monday, 12.12 at 16:00 with the opening of the Knesset plenum, the vote will take place.

Unfortunately, according to the publications in the media, the unusual request for the election of the speaker of the Knesset outside of the swearing-in date of the government, was intended to promote legislation that would allow people who were convicted and sentenced to probation, to serve as ministers.

Despite the enormous pain knowing that this is the intention of the forming coalition, I will act in a stately manner and respect the will of the voter and the plenum will be convened according to the law and the High Court ruling on the matter."
