With a celebratory video, the Mittelfranken police presented their new patrol car on Twitter.

However, the whole thing is not so well received by users.

Nuremberg – The social media departments of the police, fire brigade and Co. repeatedly draw attention to themselves with interesting behind-the-scenes insights or funny posts.

The users are happy about the change between the otherwise rather dramatic or sad contributions in which crimes or accidents are reported.

On Monday, December 5th, the Central Franconia police presented their new company car on Twitter – but that was not well received.

Or was that not the aim of the tweet at all?

Police Central Franconia shows the Audi Q5 as a new company car: An SUV for the officials

"Today we are able to introduce you to the newest service vehicle in the Bavarian police's fleet, the Audi Q5," says the celebratory Twitter post from the Middle Franconia police.

There is also an elaborate video showing a Christmas tree, then an advent calendar, behind the fifth door of which is the new company car – an Audi Q5.

According to the manufacturer, the Audi Q5 is an SUV that combines "sportiness and a high level of suitability for everyday use".

The first generation of the Q5 has been available since 2008 and the second since 2017.

The SUV is rated well on average on various car portals - but you can often read about comparatively high emissions elsewhere.

In addition to a frequent camera pan to the Audi logo, the video of the new company car shows the police interior of the car and the vehicle in action.

Everything is accompanied by lively music.

SUV for the police – Twitter users criticize the video and the company car

For the majority of Twitter users, however, neither the video itself nor the SUV decision by the Bavarian police made them happy.

On the contrary, criticism rained down.

"So money is wasted on a promotional video for Audi?" writes one user, for example.

Another user criticizes the video and the car – to which someone replies: "The taxpayer has it."

It is also often read that the video is like an advertisement for Audi.

And that in times of the climate crisis you could have bought company bicycles for the same money.

"That would help a lot more and change your perspective," writes the user.

Another user criticized that it was shameful that no electric car was bought again.

"Not suitable for everyday use", is the answer of another user.
