The weather on Monday morning made traffic difficult in Ile-de-France.
Sytadin, the site of the Regional Roads Department, has counted nearly 550 km of traffic jams on the main roads.
If this level is not a record, it is a particularly remarkable accumulation.
As this graph shows, the total slowdowns ended up very well above a red level, which is considered “exceptional”.

Since the end of the traffic restrictions put in place because of the Covid-19 pandemic, several dozen days have exceeded 460 km of traffic jams.
A peak was reached on September 14, 2021 with 610 km of reservoirs.
In 2018, a record 739 km of traffic jams was caused by snow.
Without being identical, the conditions of this Monday morning had some similarities.
With the exception of Essonne, the whole of Ile-de-France is placed by Météo France in yellow vigilance for snow and ice.
The region experienced during the night and at the beginning of the day, when the light was still low, delicate conditions with continuous rains on cold soils.
Very waterlogged flakes even fell in Paris for a few minutes.
First #snowflakes (wet 😂) of the season at 09:15 this morning in #Paris (but especially outside and on the sets).

The combination of these factors was particularly conducive to the formation of numerous plugs.
The rest of the week promises to be drier.
But further precipitation, potentially snowy and heavier, could occur on Friday and next weekend.
But the reliability of this forecast remains to be refined.
