Sudanese military and civilian leaders on Monday (December 5th) signed a first agreement aimed at ending a deep crisis that has plagued the Northeast African country since the coup just over a year ago. .
The agreement, which is part of a two-phase political process, comes after General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane's putsch on October 25, 2021, which derailed the transition to civilian rule.
Among the signatories are General Burhane as well as several civilian groups, including the Forces for Freedom and Change, ousted by the coup.
