The far-right group Les Remparts, based in Lyon, is in the crosshairs of the elected officials of the Republic.
A month and a half after the green mayor of the city, Grégory Doucet, who had challenged President Emmanuel Macron, ten Macronist deputies, members of the Renaissance party or the Territories of Progress party (itself affiliated with Renaissance), have just written to the Minister of the Interior to demand the dissolution of this identity and xenophobic movement.
An initiative orchestrated by Thomas Rudigoz, deputy of the Rhône and federating, according to our information, Anne Brugnera (Rhône), Julie Delpech (Sarthe), Guillaume Gouffier-Cha (Val-de-Marne), Nadia Hai (Yvelines), Laurence Heydel Grillere (Ardèche), Ludovic Mendes (Moselle), Didier Paris (Côte-d'Or), Patrice Perrot (Nièvre) and Sarah Tanzilli (Rhône).
They accuse this "group that recently appeared mainly on social networks" of having piloted, on October 21 in the streets of Lyon, an undeclared demonstration in which the participants, for the most part masked and hooded, had unfurled a banner "L 'immigration kills' and chanted the slogans 'Immigrant murderers' or 'Immigrants outside, terrorists in words', under the guise of 'justice for Lola'.
A group with a "violent purpose" according to the deputies
This small group was born in September 2021 from the ashes of the Génération Identitaire association dissolved six months earlier by the authorities for incitement to discrimination, hatred and violence.
It includes about fifty activists.
"Despite their recent creation and their attempt to ripolinage, to rooted
identity
, the speeches they make and their meeting places leave no doubt about the violent purpose and their filiation", denounce the ten signatories of the mail.
They also want "any dissolution action to lead to the permanent closure" of the La Traboule bar which they "use as headquarters", and the L'Agogé boxing gym.
These two sites located side by side in Old Lyon, now united under the banner of the Remparts, were able to continue their activities after the dissolution of Génération identitaire in March 2021.

This Thursday, December 8 at 6:45 p.m., the living forces of the Remparts are meeting at Place Saint-Jean, in Old Lyon, for a "great torchlight procession" to honor the "protector" of the city, the Virgin Mary.
A way for them to speak out against the Festival of Lights celebrated that day, which they deplore that it has become "a folk barnum for tourists", "a tasteless commercial entertainment giving rise to a debauchery of sounds and lights to the point of making people forget their religious roots".
