The activities of the Shakib Al-Jabri Festival for Novel Creativity (writer Nader Al-Sibai 2022 session) were launched in Tishreen Hall in Al-Sabil neighborhood.

The activities of the first day included several dialogue sessions and critical readings by elite writers of Aleppo, which shed light on the production of the writer Al-Sibai, the storyteller. The sessions were presented by Muhammad Somaya, Head of the Intellectual Property Protection Department, and Ahmed Al-Absi, Director of the Cultural Center in Hanano.

Jaber al-Sajour, director of culture in Aleppo, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the festival sheds light on one of the flags of Aleppo, which left an important literary impact on the cultural arena, locally and in the Arab world.

And he indicated that the festival is a process of transmission and frequency between cultural generations, in addition to being an identification card for a cultural generation that experienced important periods that Syria went through, and it had a creative breakthrough to document the events it was going through through the novel and the story, and an act of resistance to injustice and at the same time it chronicled literature as a memory of history. .

Nazir Jumaa, head of the Arab Writers Union, Aleppo branch, reviewed the artistic techniques of Nader al-Sibai's collection (The Rope of the Poor), and shed light on the content and stylistic aspects, highlighting the characteristics that distinguished the writer as a citizen and writer of Aleppo.

Dr. Fayez Al-Dayeh gave a critical look at the novel “The Golden Seven”, indicating that the novel deals with the present and the past in beautiful stylistic interventions in which the writer tried to renew and develop the narrative method in line with the interesting and imaginative novel “A Thousand and One Nights”, and that Nader Al-Sibai is an example Cultural literature deserves to be highlighted.

Dr. Amina Al-Hamad, a teacher at the Higher Institute of Languages, spoke about social and cultural issues in the writer’s collection of stories “The Sleeping Forest” of hunger, deprivation, and the repercussions of love on society and poverty, and the extent to which these issues are related to the fictional space, noting that the writer Al-Sabai is a cultural figure who deserves to be celebrated and read his literary products.

The writer Muhammad Jumaa Hamadeh also talked about the angles of vision in “Stories of the Poor People”, focusing on the socially marginalized characters in these stories, noting that what distinguishes Sibai’s literature is the vastness of space and the openness of intertwined worlds and its handling of simple human cases by revealing their concerns, aspirations and aspirations.

Suha Nader al-Sibai, the writer's daughter, praised the festival, pointing out that it is a civilized and cultural event that enlightens the mind and heart, stressing that her father was distinguished on the literary and human levels.

It is worth mentioning that the writer Nader Al-Sibai was born in the city of Aleppo in 1941. He studied in Aleppo and worked in teaching philosophy and sociology. He has many critical studies. He has published collections of stories, namely (Masks of Glass 1980, Stars Without Dia, 1984, The Rope of the Poor). , 1988 The Sleeping Forest, 1993).

Among his novels, which won the Sharjah Award for Creativity, was “The Seven Ashes”, and among his intellectual works was (The Adventurer Ibn Khaldun).
