Two schoolgirls were injured when they were attacked with a knife while they were on their way to school in the town of Ellerkirchberg, west of Munich, southwest Germany.
The Reuters news agency quoted a police spokesman in the German city of Ulm as saying: The police discovered after arriving at the scene and providing first aid to the two schoolgirls who were seriously injured, that the suspect fled to a nearby building.
He added: It was a number of people arrested inside the building without clarifying whether any of them is the suspected attacker.
Five people were injured in a stabbing incident on a train in western Germany last May.
