In Fürstenfeldbruck there is space for two Christmas markets - at least at the beginning of the staaden time.
Because on the first two weekends of Advent, Advent at the monastery in Fürstenfeld and the Christmas market in Bruck's center shine in all their glory.
And the visitors enjoy the atmosphere.
Fürstenfeldbruck – Mona Ragheb is represented at both locations.
"One has charm, the other has tradition," says the crepes producer from Grafrath, summarizing her impressions.
She welcomes the new form at the monastery with the waiver of entrance fees and the warm atmosphere around the open campfire as well as the musical atmosphere with the Christmas DJ engaged for the first time at the Viehmarktplatz.
Very satisfied
"We are very satisfied," summed up Fürstenfeld organizer Michaela Landmann.
Bright lights, delicacies, a market, art and music attracted around 10,000 guests over the six debut days.
While the stalls at the event forum are being dismantled again, the pre-Christmas magic at the Viehmarktplatz is also open on the third and fourth weekend in Advent.
That's why the pea soup garnished with Wiener Würstl remains a hit.
It is produced by the troop cook in the air base canteen and sold by members of the Bundeswehr at the market stall.
Where sold is the wrong word.
The delicacy is actually distributed free of charge and a deposit of three euros is only required for the plate.
However, more than 90 percent of customers waive their use of the money when they return it, which is then distributed to Brucker institutions for charitable purposes.
The pea soup
Jessica Cocco, Christopher Bathe and André Kierndorfer are the three soldiers who have been voluntarily doing the part-time job at the Christmas market on the Advent weekends after the official end of service in the barracks for several years.
They cannot explain the secret that triggers the craving for pea soup every year – around 400 liters are distributed over the twelve days of the event.
The psychological effect is considered probable, comparable to tomato juice, which supposedly tastes different and above all better on the plane high above the clouds than on the ground.

On all twelve market days, the security guards of an Emmeringer security company are on the cattle market place.
Manfred Meister, Martin Dietsch, Andreas Schorer and Süleyman Berisha have been working at the Christmas market for years and know most of the stall operators as well as most of the visitors (“at least by sight”).
When Santa Claus, alias Klaus Trnka, or Die Perchten come, the staff will be increased.
Everything peaceful
They work eight hours a day, a lap around the square is about 200 meters long and takes two minutes.
"Now everyone can calculate for themselves how often we spin," smiles Meister.
There have not been any major incidents or alcohol-related escalations despite the immense range of mulled wine varieties over the years.
"Everything is as peaceful as it should be for this contemplative time."

An opinion that shish kebab specialist Rudi Hechtl agrees with.
The Olchinger goes to folk festivals in summer and can therefore describe the difference to the Christmas market precisely: "People are less hectic before Christmas, friendly to each other and take everything more comfortably."
