Quite a symbol.
The Russian authorities had announced that they were aiming to repair the Crimean bridge before the summer of 2023. Crucial for the supply of Russian troops engaged in Ukraine, the building, also called the Kerch Strait bridge, was bombed on October 8, at the small morning.
The work had started quickly, and allowed a gradual resumption of traffic.
According to the images broadcast by the Russian news agency Ria Novisti, Vladimir Putin was able, in turn, to borrow part of it.
In a video of about fifteen seconds, we discover the head of state driving a vehicle.
The agency specifies that he “personally” toured the building, and that the Deputy Prime Minister, Marat Khusnullin, detailed the progress of the work to him.
Earlier in the morning, another local news service had announced the opening of traffic on the right side of the road part of the bridge.
The first works restored the damaged span structures - the parts between two piers - on the right side of the bridge, four other structures on the left side of the bridge should in turn be replaced.
"Within six to seven months, it is planned to restore the second track on the railway part of the bridge", continues the Ria Novisti agency.
On October 8, the Crimean Bridge, symbol of the annexation of the eponymous Ukrainian peninsula, was partially destroyed by a truck bomb attack, according to Moscow.
The Russian security services (FSB) assured at the time that it was a “terrorist attack”, organized by Ukrainian military intelligence.
Ukraine, for its part, had defended itself, pointing the finger at “a Russian track”, responsible for the explosion.

“It should be noted that the truck that exploded, by all indications, entered the bridge from the Russian side.
It is therefore in Russia that we must look for the answers (…) all this clearly indicates a Russian track”, declared the adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mykhaïlo Podoliak.
