"The pendulum of time swings to the other side"
He said that after the turmoil of amendments in 2019, Beijing enacted the "National Security Law" and revised the electoral system based on the situation in Hong Kong. However, "the pendulum is about to swing to the other side." Some citizens want to live and work in peace and contentment, and do not want the atmosphere to be so tense.
Some people have proposed social reconciliation, thinking that young people who were involved in the amendment turmoil but have not been prosecuted need to be dealt with as soon as possible. Xie Weijun said that the rule of law certainly involves enforcement, but at the same time minor cases can also be dealt with leniently.
Xie Weijun believes that when circumstances permit, some people involved in the amendment incident can be dealt with lightly.

Think that the amendment case should be dealt with as soon as possible
Xie Weijun pointed out that during the June 7th riots, many people were sentenced to 3 or 4 years in prison, but many of them were "quietly" released early, and they were released on parole early after the social atmosphere improved.
He believes that the situation at that time can be used as a reference. When the political situation eases, whether those involved in the anti-amendment bill can be dealt with lightly.
As for the cases involving the amendment storm, including the primary election case, there is still no final judgment, but many people have been detained for two years. Xie Weijun agrees that "justice delayed is not justice", referring to the riots in the UK a few years ago as an example The court opened 24 hours a day to deal with the matter as soon as possible. "I hope the Department of Justice can expedite (make a decision), sue as soon as you sue, and don't sue if you don't sue."
"There is no human rights in a wartime state" frankly lacks freedom
As for the overall environment in Hong Kong, Xie Weijun said that first of all, the national level must be considerate of each other, and there should be no more wartime conditions, "because there are naturally no human rights in wartime conditions."
He said that the lack of freedom in the whole of Hong Kong is a natural thing in preparations for war and under tense situations. Freedom of speech "or be careful."
Emily Lau pointed out that someone left a message on Facebook saying that "Hong Kong is no longer the Hong Kong we know". Xie Weijun agreed, but believed that Hong Kong people had abused their freedom. If you get a "big dragon" and cause the system to collapse, you will naturally have to deal with it severely.
Xie Weijun expressed his confidence in whether he could "go back to the middle of the road more", but he thought that the time had not come, or he would have to wait for the international situation and Sino-US relations to ease.

In terms of the parliament, Xie Weijun thinks it is more efficient than before, but "the monitoring of the government is weak, and even officials seem to feel that they are following orders", which is not appropriate.
He said that he had heard an example where a councilor prepared a letter to be handed over to an official during the exchange meeting in the front hall, hoping to take a photo, and then complained to the highest unit: "This councilor explained what he did in the front hall. Huh?" He thinks that even this method is inappropriate for officials now, "Isn't it too late?" He said that it is wrong for officials to have this kind of thinking, pointing out that in a democratic society, this kind of delivery is only the last usual way of expression.
Regarding the government's plan to "grab talents", Xie Weijun said that it doesn't matter if the word "grab" is used in daily chats, but the title of the "Policy Address" also uses the word "grab". He once expressed that the wording is inappropriate.
However, he said with a smile that after the publication, "some establishments reacted, but it didn't take their breath away."

When it comes to epidemic prevention and control measures, Xie Weijun criticized the officials for their lack of understanding of the country's conditions, thinking that after receiving the instructions, "it is appropriate to do something unexpected first." Sometimes it's inappropriate.
Therefore, after receiving the instructions, Hong Kong has to think about what countermeasures, how to use ideas, language, and packaging that Hong Kong people can accept while complying with the general policy, so as to make the incident "more peaceful."
Xie Weijun said that this is what the main officials of the SAR government should do under the "one country, two systems", "but sometimes it is often uncertain."
