Lattakia, SANA- The Mosaic Association for Relief and Human Development revived a diverse artistic event within the 16 Days of Our Campaign.

The Mosaic Association for Relief and Human Development revived a diverse artistic event within the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund in Syria.

The event included a range of activities, including the presentation of a carnival theatrical performance entitled (Celebration of Silence), in addition to the participation of the Harmony Dance Band and a choir supporting the theme of the campaign, which presented a set of songs to Mrs. Fairouz.

A comprehensive exhibition was opened for the products of the women who benefited from the project's work, which included many handicrafts, crochet, drawing and sewing. It also reviewed success stories of women who benefited from the project's work and presented them with honorary shields.

Among the projects of the Mosaic Society is the project (Our Home Centers), which are distributed in the neighborhoods of Datour, Al-Raml Al-Janoubi, and Jubeh Burghal, where the technical officer of the Women’s Support and Empowerment Project, Amna Al-Sheikh, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the aim of these campaigns is to combat violence against women in all its forms, and to invite women to know their rights. And defending them and improving their mental health, pointing out that eliminating violence is not only the responsibility of women, but rather the responsibility of society as a whole.

The author of the theatrical script for the celebration and the director of the Datour Center, Lama Ali, explained that her writing of the script is a kind of motivation for women not to be silent about the violence directed against them, explaining that the center offers free courses of psychological support sessions and services to enable women to enter the labor market and encourage them to engage in society.

The director of the Baytna Center in the southern sand, Alia Haidar, stated that the aim of these activities is to support women and empower them psychologically, especially marginalized and domestically abused women, in addition to teaching them professions so that they are women who are able to suffice themselves economically.

The psychologist, case manager at the Baytna Center in the southern sand, Ralda Issa, explained that the psychological awareness sessions may be individual or group, pointing out that the women undergo vocational training courses such as sewing, cutting courses, hairdressing, computer courses, and teaching French and English languages, arts and drawing over a period of 3 months.

Drawing and handicrafts trainer Nujoud Shahoud explained that the training courses aim to enhance the self-confidence of the female employees, as the centers receive beneficiaries from the age of 12 to 65 years.

Bushra Halloum, an English language trainer at the Datour Center, confirmed that the center offers free courses for the English language, in addition to making paintings from tree branches and colored stones using acrylic, wire, feathers, and ceramic paste with different designs.
