The French have surrendered.
And among these, some very nice things: just take a look at the Twitter accounts of the prefectures that have communicated on the "national operation to abandon found or inherited weapons" organized by the State in recent days to spot amateurs identifying here a Luger P08 pistol, there a Mauser 98k rifle from the Second World War, or even vintage Colts, even imperial sabers.
Behind the old rusty guns, objects of great value, even witnesses of great history were handed over to the State without compensation.
What will become of these rare weapons?
Among the 150,000 objects abandoned in the approximately 300 sites made available, almost all must be destroyed, crushed before seeing their metal recycled.
But a sorting will be carried out, assures the State.
