Two men were seriously and moderately injured tonight (Tuesday) in an assassination attempt on Route 6 near the Ben Shemen interchange.
The victims, one of whom is a resident of East Jerusalem and the identity of the other is not yet known, were traveling in a luxury Lamborghini type car.
It is suspected that they were shot by unknown persons from another car while driving, who then fled the scene.
The police started investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The two, aged 31 and 46, were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva with penetrating injuries.
MDA paramedic Elad Polak and medic Shlomo Levy said: "Inside the tunnel we saw a vehicle standing on the side and nearby lay a man with penetrating injuries and another man also with penetrating injuries.
We gave them life-saving medical treatment and evacuated them to the hospital, with one in serious condition and the other in moderate condition."
At the weekend, a 25-year-old man was shot dead in Kfar Kara, and another person was seriously injured.
The police are investigating a suspected murder.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene, near a concrete plant in the south of the industrial zone, pronounced the death of Said Omar Kabaha on the spot and evacuated the other injured person to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera while he is sedated and breathing and in a serious condition.
A preliminary investigation shows that the incident occurred while the two were traveling together in a car. A passenger in another car, who overtook them a few seconds earlier - got out of the car and started firing a large number of shots at them, then fled the scene.
