A customer wants an explanation on Facebook.
It's about the price of a DHL package that her mother had to pay.
The company provides a reason.
Nuremberg – “Hello!
Could you explain to me why my mother paid 31.99 euros for a package to Greece weighing 4.5 kg???”, a Nuremberg resident demands to know from DHL on Facebook.
The package was handed in by her mother at a post office in Kaufland in Nuremberg.
Now the daughter could not explain the price.
The logistics company does not take long to respond.
DHL in Kaufland Nuremberg: customer upset about the package price – insurance responsible for the amount?
DHL tries to explain: "In the branch, a package up to 5 kg costs EUR 17.99, if you then take out additional insurance of up to EUR 1,000 (in the event of loss and damage), there is an additional fee of EUR 14 calculated.
Altogether that is the EUR 31.99 that the mother paid.” A photo that the customer posted on Facebook shows that the package weighs less than five kilograms.
Facebook user corrects DHL promptly: "But then Paket Welt would not be on the label"
A Facebook user who apparently knows better than the parcel service itself corrects the company promptly.
"DHL, but then Paket Welt would not be on the label," says the comment.
"I rather guess that the seller chose the EU exemption areas of Greece, with an EU package there is no small label for the customs declaration (lower label)." Her job explains why the woman knows her way around so well .
She works for Rewe's postal and financial services.
