He was such a fine guy.

There was nobody who didn't like him.

Michael Miesbauer on the late Moritz Walter.

The sympathy for the accidental death of the father of four and TSV 1860 Ultras Moritz Walter is still huge.

In Schwaig, the Moosmotor association is now organizing a charity run on New Year's Eve for Walter's family.

Schwaig - "The lion world is small," says Michael Miesbauer.

Seen in this way, it is no wonder that a tragic family fate from the districts of Dachau and Freising is now reaching the municipality of Oberding.

The lions mean the footballers of TSV 1860 Munich and one of their biggest fans, an ultra in a positive sense.

As our newspaper reported last August, the just 36-year-old Freisinger Moritz Walter from the SC Inhauser Moos club died in a motorcycle accident - a father of four small children.

Walter was also a friend of the Schwaig association for customs and culture, the Moosmotor eV, which now organizes a New Year's Eve run across Schwaig on December 31 for the benefit of the family.

Anyone can take part, registration is already open.

"Perhaps one or the other player or someone from the Lions Presidium will start," reveals Michael Miesbauer.

He is one of five Moosmotor chairmen and also one of the engines behind the “All for Moritz” donation initiative, which was launched shortly after the bad accident on the Instagram social network and in which numerous people have participated or are still participating.

The sympathy was huge, even lion investor Hasan Ismaik promised at the time: "We will not leave the family alone."

“My wife Nathalie comes from Unterschleißheim and was friends with Moritz.

He belonged to our mutual circle of friends.

That's how we both got to know and love each other.

He was such a fine guy.

There was nobody who didn't like him," says Miesbauer.

"The Moosmotor, our cultural association from Schwaig, is not just about festivals, but from our point of view it also means supporting our fellow human beings in need."

"We also played football games against Moritz, he was often present at Schwaiger theater performances and at local festivals," says Miesbauer about his deceased friend.

It is a matter of honor that he himself is now taking part in the New Year's Eve run.

As reported, Miesbauer even dares to take part in triathlons, with his wife and two children he has already made the city run in Erding a family affair.

But now to the track in Schwaig.

"Together for a good cause" is the motto of the run, which begins on New Year's Eve, a Saturday, at 10 a.m. with the start of the one-kilometer children's run.

At 10.45 it's the turn of the bigger ones - over five or ten kilometers.

All runs start at the Schwaiger village square at Schulstraße 1. The route continues via Schulstraße and Flurstraße into the Oberdinger Moos.

On the way back along Gfällachstraße, the route leads back to Schulstraße before heading back to the village square.

The routes lead over paved roads and loose, overgrown ground.

There will be a soup kitchen and drinks for the spectators.

While the children's run is free, adults pay 25 euros for the five or ten kilometers - almost the entire amount of which, after deducting smaller costs, goes to the Walter family.

There's no competition: “We made a conscious decision against official timing.

The fun of exercise and the charitable purpose should be the focus,” writes Moosmotor on its website.

Instead of an award ceremony, a group photo will be taken of all participants, which will then be emailed to everyone.

Great sympathy after the death of Moritz Walter: sponsors support the New Year's Eve run

"The whole village helps," says Miesbauer enthusiastically.

The fire brigade, for example, takes over the blocking of the relevant roads and is ready with their first responders in case of an emergency.

The municipality advises the cultural association on the organization.

"And we've already won a few sponsors," says Miesbauer gratefully.

The Erdinger Weißbräu supplies the runners in the finish area with its non-alcoholic beverages, Catering Ascher from Schwaig takes care of the food, which is free of charge for the participants as well as the drinks.

Sparkasse Erding/Dorfen donates catering for runners and gifts for finishers, and the Holme company from Erding sponsors medals for each child.

The gifts for the adults at the finish line are provided by Andrea Kreuzpointner's prowin sales company.

"And Trisport Erding supported us in planning the run," says Miesbauer, thanking him, emphasizing: "None of this can be taken for granted."

The entire Moosmotor eV already thanks them on their homepage and promises – even without taking a time limit: “Anyone who pulls themselves together on New Year’s Eve morning, regardless of the weather, and goes running for a good cause is a winner anyway!” Heart.

All information, such as registration, (donation) transfer and procedure, is available at www.moosmotor.de.

The participants of the New Year's Eve run in Schwaig support the "All for Moritz" campaign.

Registration closes on Wednesday, December 21st.
